Your privacy is important and protected by law. Read here how I have built my website in such a way that your privacy is guaranteed.
Does the site use cookies?
No. Every time you visit this website, this is anonymously tracked and registered in Matomo. Matomo is installed locally on my webserver and this data is therefore not stored with a large party such as Google. The following data is registered: part of your IP address & time of visit. This data is obtained through a simple JavaScript command.
With this data I can keep track of which pages are the most popular, which materials are downloaded the most, etc. Because this data is not read and stored in full (the IP address is missing 2 digits), there is no personal data stored anywhere. This is done in accordance with the privacy by design principle of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You can use the entire website without providing any data. Registering visitors via Matomo is done without cookies, so the site does not store any personal data about you, on the server or in your browser.
The site itself with a view to privacy
To give you more insight into the technical processes on which the site runs:
The website is simply built in HTML via Hugo on my computer and transferred via FTP. This means that no data is read from your computer and therefore no data is stored on the server that can be traced back to you. This is in contrast to other popular weblog software such as WordPress, where various cookies end up in a database. An additional advantage of the approach via Hugo: the website is lightning fast because nothing has to be built dynamically.
